handon Church is odd for having
two sides faced in red sandstone and two in white; hence the
old doggeral: "Partly coloured like its people, red and
white is Shandon steeple". In its shadow is the Shandon
Court Hotel looking down upon Cork's city spires reflected in
the river. And, like its elevated position, the hotel has set
a standard to which hotels must aspire. Extensive works both
inside and out now completed, its doors have opened to provide
Cork with a superior hotel and an exclusive restaurant fit for
the city's visiting VIPs. The luxury hotel (awaiting its official
ratings) is privately owned and run- and it shows: the furnishings,
flowers and ornamental antiques express a very personal preference.
This personal touch extends to the way you are received and cared
for.

Since it opened, The Belfry,
the hotel's restaurant, has attracted a strong following, possibly
for the view, most certainly for its excellent cuisine and fine
wine list.
For business or pleasure, this hotel is a most satisfying experience.
Location: Close
to the city centre, off Camden Quay.
